The Planning and Community Development Department is comprised of three departments: Building, Planning, and Historic Preservation. A summary of the essential responsibilities of each department is located on their corresponding department links.
Mission Statement:
To develop and apply land use, building and historic preservation regulations that retain the quality of life and heritage of the Cripple Creek community. In administering these programs and assisting civilians, the department goal is to provide timely and cost-effective services in a fair and consistent manner.

Note: An inspector shall, based on that inspector’s familiarity with the installer, require each individual doing electrical or plumbing work as defined by 12-23-101 definitions or 12-58-102 definitions C.R.S. respectively, to produce documentation showing they are a currently licensed Colorado state electrician/plumber or a registered apprentice.
