Firefighter-Full-Time, full benefits offered. Starting Salary $38,223 yr., DOE. Cripple Creek Emergency Services is currently hiring for the position of Entry Level Firefighter. CC Emergency Services provides fire protection, EMS, and rescue to the City of Cripple Creek and the surrounding area, covering approximately 56 square miles. Possession of the following is required: Colorado State Firefighter I (or higher) Certification; Colorado State Hazardous Materials Operations Certification; current Colorado EMT Certification. Current IFSAC and/or Pro Board Fire Service Professional Qualifications in lieu of Colorado State Certifications can be submitted for consideration. Please submit an application with a resume, three professional references with contact numbers, and a CPAT (Candidate Physical Agility Test) that is valid through the expected start date in July 2021 but must be valid on the date of hire. Field Operations SupervisorFull-Time, full benefits offered. Hiring range $46,460 to $54,658 yr., DOE. This position supervises Public Works daily field operations for water distribution, wastewater collection, streets, roads, drainage, signage and city-wide events. Plans and schedules resources for the efficient completion of all operational activities. Requirements: high school graduate or equivalent and four years of experience in public works projects/construction; with at least one year in public works as a supervisor preferred. Possession of a valid Class B CDL Colorado Driver’s License required; certification as a Traffic Control Supervisor and a minimum of a Colorado Class 1 water distribution and a class 1 Water Collection or higher or obtain within one year of employment. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check; and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held in the previous three years.

Laborer/Equipment Operator-Full-Time, full benefits offered. Hiring range $27,164 to $35,000 yr., DOE. This position performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor in the construction and maintenance of roadways, water and sewer systems, drainage facilities, and other public facilities; drives trucks and operates equipment incidental to the work. Two years related experience in equipment operation preferred. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; must have a valid Colorado Driver’s License Class B with air brakes and a tanker or obtain one within one year of hire; Possession of level 1 water distribution or equivalent or ability to obtain within 1 year; must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, physical and background check; and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held in the previous three years.

Police Dispatcher Full-Time, full benefits offered. Hiring range $33,018 to $38,845 yr., DOE. Job Duties Include: Processing emergent/non-emergent calls for Police, Fire and EMS. Must be able to: monitor and answer multi-channel radios and monitor additional frequencies for adjacent jurisdictions; maintain accurate and current awareness of the status and location of all personnel and equipment; operate computer terminals to enter, query, modify and/or delete data from NCIC/CCIC and CAD systems; maintain confidentiality; monitor building surveillance equipment. Must also be able to perform well in high stress situations, work within a team environment, assist with various clerical duties and assist the public. Shift work required for 24/7 emergency operations.

Requirements include: experience preferred. Must be 18 years or older, have a valid Colorado driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days, pass a background check, polygraph, pre-employment drug test, audiogram, computer skills test and other job specific testing. An acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years must be provided. High school diploma or GED required. Graveyard shift, custodial experience preferred. Police Corporal– Full-Time, full benefits offered. Salary range $48,783 to $57,392 yr., DOE. This position patrols assigned beat on foot or in a patrol car to control traffic, prevent crime or disturbance of peace, and arrest violators; supervises police officers when Sergeant is absent. Recommended training will include: Interview and interrogation Training, Domestic Violence Training, Community Oriented Policing, First Responder Training, and Field Training Officer Training. Experience in Traffic Accident Investigation desired. Minimum experience of two consecutive years within the last five years in the police field. Other requirements include: must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid Colorado driver’s license, and have a high school diploma or GED; college course work in police science, criminology, or a closely related field is preferred. Heritage Tourism Assistant– Part-Time, see above document for benefits offered; Starting $12.32/hour, DOE. The Heritage Tourism Department is accepting applications for this position. This position will work at the Heritage Center, Information Center, and Outlaws and Lawmen Jail Museum, and any additional City attractions as needed. Customer service experience preferred. Good communication skills are necessary for greeting visitors in person, by telephone, and by e-mail. Computer skills including Microsoft Office preferred. Weekends and Holidays will be required. The City of Cripple Creek Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of a part-time Animal Control Officer. The Officer will perform the day to day activities of the animal shelter operation within the regulations of the Colorado Department of Agriculture Pet Care and Facilities Act; also performs the task of animal control enforcement including patrol and enforcing municipal animal control ordinances. Must be 18 years of age or older, have a valid Colorado driver’s license, and a high school diploma or GED. Experience in the care and handling of animals is desirable.
