The Public Works Department maintains roads in the city year-round. It implements safety improvements to enhance vehicle and pedestrian safety, paves streets and performs preventive maintenance on existing paved streets. 

 

Mission statement:
To develop and maintain a smooth and safe surface transportation system.

Goals and objectives:
Implement safety improvements to enhance vehicle and pedestrian safety.
Expand the construction of curb, gutter and sidewalks as much as is financial possible.
Develop storm water control infrastructure that is adequate for 10-year storm events and that prevents excessive erosion.
Pave all unpaved streets within the city limits.
Perform adequate preventive maintenance to obtain the maximum useful life of all paved roads.
