City Administrator Position Announcement


Laborer/Equipment Operator-Full Time, full benefits offered. Hiring range: $27,164 to $31,958 yr., DOE. This position performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor in the construction and maintenance of roadways, water and sewer systems, drainage facilities and other public facilities; drives trucks and operates equipment incidental to the work. Two years related experience in equipment operation preferred. Requirements: high school graduate or equivalent; possession of level 1 water distribution or equivalent or ability to obtain within 1 year; possession of valid Colorado driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days; possession of valid Class B CDL or will have one year to obtain; pass pre-employment drug test and background check; provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held in the previous 3 years.

Deputy City ClerkFull Time, full benefits offered. Hiring range: $33,018 to $38,845 yr., DOE. This position will perform a variety of clerical and administrative work in the City Clerk’s office to include duties associated with Municipal Court. Experience in a court room setting is desired. Computer experience and communication skills are required. Prior experience in a similar position preferred. Requirements: high school diploma or equivalent; two years of professional office management experience or other equivalent combination of experience and education; must be 21 years old. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years.

CustodianFull Time, full benefits offered. Hiring Range: $21,216 to $27,424 yr., DOE. Graveyard shift. Keeps premises of City-owned buildings in clean and orderly condition by performing custodial duties.Requirements: Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License or obtain one within 30 days of hire; and have any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the eighth grade providing the ability to read and write. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held in the previous 3 years. The comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, gap, life insurance, long-term disability, 8% retirement contribution into CCOERA, vacation and sick leave accompanied by 13 paid holidays.

Police Officer – Full-Time, full benefits offered. Salary $40,134 to $54,298 per year; DOE. The City of Cripple Creek Police Department is now accepting applications for a part-time Police Officer. Patrols assigned beat on foot, or in patrol car to control traffic, prevent crime or disturbance of peace, and arrest violators. Must be 21 years of age or older, have a valid Colorado driver’s license, POST certified, be able to pass all physical and psychological exams, background checks, pre-employment drug test and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from all states in which a license has been held within the previous three years. Requires a high school diploma or GED.

PART-TIME:

Transit Driver- Part-Time, no benefits offered. $10.74/hour (no CDL), $11.85/hour (CDL), DOE. Duties include transporting visitors and citizens to various locations throughout the City; also will be assisting the disabled as necessary. Colorado CDL C or higher with P1 endorsement preferred, but will be allowed 3 months to obtain. Requirements: high school diploma or GED; 21 years of age or older; pass a pre-employment drug test and background check; provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years. Nights and weekends required.

Heritage Tourism Assistant- Part-Time, no benefits offered. $10.23-$12.04 hour, DOE. The Heritage Tourism Department is accepting applications for the position of a Part-Time Heritage Tourism Assistant. This position will work at the Heritage Center, Information Center, and Outlaws and Lawmen Jail Museum, and any additional City attractions as needed. Customer service experience preferred, and good communication skills are necessary for greeting visitors in person, by telephone, and by e-mail. Computer skills including Microsoft Office preferred. Weekends and holidays are required. Requirements: high school diploma or equivalent; must be 18 years old and possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License or obtain one within 30 days of being hired. Animal Control Officer-Part-Time, no benefits offered. Hiring range $13.06-$15.36/hour, DOE.The Police Department is now accepting applications for a part-time Animal Control Officer. The Officer will perform the day to day activities of the animal shelter operation within the regulations of the Colorado Department of Agriculture Pet Care and Facilities Act; also performs the task of animal control enforcement including patrol and enforcing municipal animal control ordinances. Requirements: must be 18 years of age or older; high school diploma or equivalent required; and possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License. Must pass a pre-employment drug test, psychological exams, and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held in the previous three years.
