Planning and Community Development Director-Full-Time, full benefits offered. Hiring Range $59,296 to $69,760 per year, DOE. The Planning and Community Development Department is currently seeking a Planning and Community Development Director. Under administrative direction, the Director is a generalist and working leader that expertly performs the duties associated with land use planning and zoning, and economic development; and directs and manages the overall activities and operations of the Planning and Community Development Department including building permitting and inspection services, historic preservation, code enforcement, facilities maintenance and Mt. Pisgah cemetery. The comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, gap, life insurance, long-term disability, 8% retirement contribution into CCOERA, vacation and sick leave accompanied by 13 paid holidays. The applicant must have a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and 5 years of experience in municipal planning and economic development, or demonstrated equivalent experience and expertise. Deputy City Clerk – Full-Time, full benefits offered. Salary $33,018 to $38,845 per year; The Clerk’s Office is now accepting applications for the position of Deputy City Clerk. This position will perform a variety of clerical and administrative work in the City Clerk’s office to include duties associated with Municipal Court. Computer experience and communication skills are required. Prior experience in a similar position preferred. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of professional office management experience or other equivalent combination of experience and education; must be 21 years old. Experience in a courtroom setting desired. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years.

Laborer/Equipment Operator-Full-Time, full benefits offered. Salary $27,164 to $31,958 a year, DOE. The Public Works Department is now accepting applications for the position of Laborer/Equipment Operator. Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor in the construction and maintenance of roadways, water and sewer systems, drainage facilities, and other public facilities; drives trucks and operates equipment incidental to the work. Two years related experience in equipment operation preferred. High school graduate or equivalent. Possession of level 1 water distribution or equivalent or ability to obtain one within 1 year. Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days; must possess a valid Class B CDL or the ability to obtain one within one year. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held in the previous three years.

Police Officer – Full-Time, full benefits offered. Salary $40,134 to $54,298 per year; DOE. The City of Cripple Creek Police Department is now accepting applications for a part-time Police Officer. Patrols assigned beat on foot, or in patrol car to control traffic, prevent crime or disturbance of peace, and arrest violators. Applicant must have at least 2 years of experience as a police officer, as this position will be filling shifts. Must be 21 years of age or older, have a valid Colorado driver’s license, POST certified, be able to pass all physical and psychological exams, background checks, pre-employment drug test and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from all states in which a license has been held within the previous three years. Requires a high school diploma or GED.

PART-TIME:


Animal Control Officer-Part-Time, no benefits offered; $13.06 to $17.67 an hour, DOE. The Police Department in Cripple Creek is now accepting applications for an Animal Control Officer. The Officer will perform the day to day activities of the animal shelter operation within the regulations of the Colorado Department of Agriculture Pet Care and Facilities Act; also performs the task of animal control enforcement including patrol and enforcing municipal animal control ordinances. Must be 18 years of age or older, have a valid Colorado Driver’s License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of appointment; Must have a high school diploma or GED and experience in the care and handling of animals is desirable. Must pass background checks, psychological exams, and a pre-employment drug screen; and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years.

Transit Driver – Cripple Creek Transportation Department – Part Time, no benefits offered, $10.74/hour (no CDL), $11.85/hour (CDL), DOE. Duties include transporting visitors and citizens to various locations throughout the City; also will be assisting the disabled as necessary. Colorado CDL C or higher with P1 endorsement preferred, but will be allowed 3 months to obtain. High school diploma or GED. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must pass a drug test and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous 3 years.

Wastewater Plant Intern-PT Temporary-Wastewater Department. $10.23/hour, three months, no benefits offered. Performs water and wastewater plant and systems maintenance and assists in controlling treatment plant machines and equipment to purify and clarify water for human consumption and for industrial use. Also maintains and operates sewage treatment, sludge processing and disposal equipment in wastewater (sewage) treatment plant to control flow and processing of sewage. High School Junior or Senior in good standing. Must be at least 16 years old. Background check and pre-employment drug screen required.
