Firefighter-Full-Time, full benefits offered. Starting salary $48,793 annually, DOE. Cripple Creek Emergency Services is now hiring for the position of Firefighter. CCES provides fire protection, EMS, and rescue to the City of Cripple Creek and the surrounding area, covering approximately 56 square miles. Possession of the following is required: Colorado State Firefighter I (or higher) Certification; Colorado State Hazardous Materials Operations Certification; and current Colorado EMT Certification. Current IFSAC and/or Pro Board Fire Service Professional Qualifications in lieu of Colorado State Certifications can be submitted for consideration.  Please submit an application with a resume, three professional references with contact numbers, and a CPAT (Candidate Physical Agility Test) that is valid through the expected start date in September/October 2022 but must be valid on the date of hire. Treatment Plant Operator-Full-Time, full benefits offered. Hiring range $44,247 to $52,056 annually, DOE. The City’s Plant Operations Department is now accepting applications for the position of a Treatment Plant Operator. The Operator performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled technical and maintenance work in the operation, maintenance and repair of water and wastewater facilities. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or general education degree with course work in math and science required. Two years of experience in a water and/or wastewater utility preferred. Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire. Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen; must provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years.

Lead Operator-Full-Time, full benefits offered. Hiring range $46,460 to $54,658 yr., DOE. The Public Works Department is now hiring for this position. Operates heavy equipment, assists with plans and directs the efforts of Public Works crews in the execution of work assignments. Applicant must have any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or GED and two years of related experience in equipment operation; and must possess a valid Colorado Class B CDL with air brakes, preferably with a tanker endorsement. Once hired must qualify in American Red Cross CPR, and as a flagger within six months and in trench safety within a year.

Facility Assistant II-Full-Time, full benefits offered. Hiring range $27,164 to $31,958 yr., DOE. The Parks and Recreation Department is now hiring for this position. This position is responsible for assisting and participating in arena activities and special events; planning, scheduling, and implementing recreation activities and/or classes utilizing the facility and parks; daily maintenance of facility and grounds; assisting with transporting passengers; and acting as receptionist for the department. The successful candidate in this position requires an individual to have excellent public and customer relation skills. We are looking for a self-starter who needs little supervision, and experience in computers, program development, customer service, and recreational activities. Some experience with fitness programs, including seniors, is preferred. Other duties may be assigned under the capacity of these programs. Requirements include: any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school with course work in computers and business, and one year’s experience as receptionist/office assistant; must be at least 18 years old; have a valid Colorado Class B CDL with P2 endorsement or be able to obtain within 6 months; possession of a current certificate in First Aid and CPR or acquire within 60 days. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check (including TRAILS), and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held.

Firefighter-Full-Time Temporary. Starting salary $48,793 yr., DOE. Benefits include: medical, dental, vision (effective 1st of month following hire); sick and vacation leave along with 12 paid holidays. Heavy Equipment Mechanic-Full-Time, full benefits offered. Hiring range $42,140 to $49,577 yr., DOE. The Public Works Department is now accepting applications for this position. Performs a variety of skilled mechanical repair work to automotive and power equipment and manages a preventative maintenance program. Minimum of 2 years verifiable work experience in automotive mechanic work required. Two years as apprentice or vocational training can be substituted for the experience as a mechanic. Must have valid Class B Colorado Commercial Driver’s License or be able to obtain one within 30 days. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and provide an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record from any state in which a license was held within the last three years.

Police Dispatcher Full-Time, full benefits offered. Hiring range $40,134 to $47,216 yr., DOE. Job Duties Include: Processing emergent/non-emergent calls for Police, Fire and EMS. Must be able to: monitor and answer multi-channel radios and monitor additional frequencies for adjacent jurisdictions; maintain accurate and current awareness of the status and location of all personnel and equipment; operate computer terminals to enter, query, modify and/or delete data from NCIC/CCIC and CAD systems; maintain confidentiality; monitor building surveillance equipment. Must also be able to perform well in high stress situations, work within a team environment, assist with various clerical duties and assist the public. Shift work required for 24/7 emergency operations.

Requirements include: experience preferred. Must be 18 years or older, have a valid Colorado driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days, pass a background check, polygraph, pre-employment drug test, audiogram, computer skills test and other job specific testing. An acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years must be provided. High school diploma or GED required. Graveyard shift, custodial experience preferred. Police Corporal– Full-Time, full benefits offered. Salary range $59,296 to $69,760 yr., DOE. This position patrols assigned beat on foot or in a patrol car to control traffic, prevent crime or disturbance of peace, and arrest violators; supervises police officers when Sergeant is absent. Recommended training will include: Interview and interrogation Training, Domestic Violence Training, Community Oriented Policing, First Responder Training, and Field Training Officer Training. Experience in Traffic Accident Investigation desired. Minimum experience of two consecutive years within the last five years in the police field. Other requirements include: must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid Colorado driver’s license, and have a high school diploma or GED; college course work in police science, criminology, or a closely related field is preferred. Driver/Facility/Program Assistant-Part-Time, see above document for benefits offered. Starting salary $13.06/hour, DOE. Parks and Recreation Department; flexible schedule alters weekly. This position will require several responsibilities including receptionist duties, transporting participants, implementing activity programs, and may substitute for other youth programs. Other duties may be assigned under the capacity of these programs. Requirements: must be at least 18 years old, possession of a current certificate in First Aid and CPR or ability to acquire within 60 days. Position requires a CDL Colorado License with P2 endorsement or ability to obtain within 3 months, a thorough background investigation from Colorado Bureau of Investigation and with TRAILS.
