FULL-TIME:
Historic Preservation and Planning Coordinator-Planning and Community Development Department-Full-Time, full benefits offered. Hiring range $59,296 to $69,760 yr., DOE. This position is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the Historic Preservation, Planning and Mt. Pisgah Cemetery processes including intake of applications, review and distribution of materials submitted, disseminating information regarding HP concepts and guidelines, and interpreting code and reviewing guidelines, while maintaining records and processing actions by the Historic Preservation Commission, Planning Commission, City Council, and Cemetery Board. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in architecture, architecture history, art history or historic preservation preferred and three years of experience preferably in a municipal setting, working within the historic preservation area. Other combinations of education and experience, which provide the skills required for the job, may be substituted for listed requirements. Other requirements include passing a background check and providing an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years. Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License or must obtain one within 30 days of hire is also required.

Administrative Technician-Planning and Community Development Department-Full-Time, full benefits offered. Hiring range $40,134 to $47,216 yr., DOE. This position performs a variety of administrative support functions, provides public information and assists with data entry, building permits, contractor licenses, recordkeeping and other needed tasks as they arise for the department. Prior office experience required, with four years of increasingly responsible experience working with the public and knowledge of ICC Building Codes and building permitting systems and databases preferred. Must possess ICC Permit Technician Certification or obtain within 90 days. Computer skills including utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and effective communication skills required. Must be able to pass a background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years. Requires a valid Colorado driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days and a high school diploma or GED.

Custodian-Full-Time, full benefits offered. Hiring range $31,446 to $36,995 yr., DOE. This position helps keep premises of City-owned buildings in clean and orderly condition, by performing the following duties. Custodial experience is preferred. The successful applicant must pass a pre-employment background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held in the previous three years; must also hold a valid Colorado Driver’s license or obtain one within 30 days of hire.

Police Officer Recruit-Full-Time, full benefits offered. Starting Salary $44,247 yr. Under immediate supervision, actively participates in the P.O.S.T. certified police training academy; performs all related learning and testing activities. Police Recruits will be sponsored by the City while attending the law enforcement academy, including academy tuition and an hourly pay rate of the salary above, which is $21.27/hour. Recruits must successfully complete the Academy and be Colorado POST certified prior to starting in the department’s Field Training and Evaluation Program (FTEP). Your hourly rate when you start the FTEP will be the current starting rate for Police Officer, which is currently $28.51/hour. Requirements include: possess a high school diploma or GED; be at least 21 years old; possess a valid Colorado driver’s license or obtain within 30 days of hire; pass all physical and psychological exams, background checks, a pre-employment drug test, and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years. Police Dispatcher– Full-Time, full benefits offered. Hiring range $46,460 to $54,658 yr., DOE. Job Duties Include: Processing emergent/non-emergent calls for Police, Fire and EMS. Must be able to: monitor and answer multi-channel radios and monitor additional frequencies for adjacent jurisdictions; maintain accurate and current awareness of the status and location of all personnel and equipment; operate computer terminals to enter, query, modify and/or delete data from NCIC/CCIC and CAD systems; maintain confidentiality; monitor building surveillance equipment. Must also be able to perform well in high stress situations, work within a team environment, assist with various clerical duties and assist the public. Shift work required for 24/7 emergency operations.
Requirements include: experience preferred. Must be 18 years or older, have a valid Colorado driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire, pass a background check, polygraph, audiogram, computer skills test and other job specific testing; and an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years must be provided. Police Corporal– Full-Time, full benefits offered. Salary range $68,642 to $80,755 yr., DOE. This position patrols assigned beat on foot or in a patrol car to control traffic, prevent crime or disturbance of peace, and arrest violators; supervises police officers when Sergeant is absent. Recommended training will include: Interview and interrogation Training, Domestic Violence Training, Community Oriented Policing, First Responder Training, and Field Training Officer Training. Experience in Traffic Accident Investigation desired. Minimum experience of two consecutive years within the last five years in the police field. Other requirements include: must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid Colorado driver’s license or obtain one within 30 days of hire, and have a high school diploma or GED; college course work in police science, criminology, or a closely related field is preferred. Duties include transporting visitors and citizens to various locations throughout the City, including assisting the disabled as necessary. Requirements include: Colorado CDL C or higher with P1 endorsement preferred, but will allow 3 months to obtain; high school diploma or GED; must be 21 years of age or older; must pass a drug test and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous 3 years.
