Planning and Community Development Director-Full-Time, full benefits offered. Hiring Range $59,296 to $69,760 per year, DOE. The Planning and Community Development Department is currently seeking a Planning and Community Development Director. Under administrative direction, the Director is a generalist and working leader that expertly performs the duties associated with land use planning and zoning, and economic development; and directs and manages the overall activities and operations of the Planning and Community Development Department including building permitting and inspection services, historic preservation, code enforcement, facilities maintenance and Mt. Pisgah cemetery. The applicant must have a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and 5 years of experience in municipal planning and economic development, or demonstrated equivalent experience and expertise. Requirements: must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License or obtain one within 30 days of appointment; and must be at least 21 years old. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held in the previous three years. PART-TIME:


Theater Assistant-Part-Time, no benefits offered; Starting pay $10.23 an hour, DOE. The Butte Theater in Cripple Creek is now accepting applications for a Theater Assistant. Responsibilities include: working the box office, house managing, light technical and cleaning tasks, and other duties as assigned. Excellent customer service skills and basic computer skills required. Must be willing to work weekends, nights, and some holidays. Must be 18 years of age or older. Police Officer – Part-Time, no benefits offered; $19.30 to $26.10 an hour, DOE.
The City of Cripple Creek Police Department is now accepting applications for a part-time Police Officer. Patrols assigned beat on foot, or in patrol car to control traffic, prevent crime or disturbance of peace, and arrest violators. Applicant must have at least 2 years of experience as a police officer, as this position will be filling shifts. Must be 21 years of age or older, have a valid Colorado driver’s license, POST certified, be able to pass all physical and psychological exams, background checks, pre-employment drug test and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from all states in which a license has been held within the previous three years. Requires a high school diploma or GED.

Transit Driver – Cripple Creek Transportation Department – Part Time, no benefits offered, $10.74/hour (no CDL), $11.85/hour (CDL), DOE. Duties include transporting visitors and citizens to various locations throughout the City; also will be assisting the disabled as necessary. Colorado CDL C or higher with P1 endorsement preferred, but will be allowed 3 months to obtain. High school diploma or GED. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must pass a drug test and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous 3 years.

Heritage Tourism Assistant-PT Seasonal-Heritage Tourism Department, $10.23-$13.84 starting pay, DOE; no benefits offered. May-September. This position will work at the Heritage Center, Information Center, and Outlaws and Lawmen Jail Museum, and any additional City attractions as needed. Customer service experience preferred. Good communication skills are necessary for greeting visitors in person, by telephone, and by e-mail. Computer skills including Microsoft Officer preferred. Weekends and Holidays will be required. High school diploma or GED required and must be at least 18 years old, and possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of being hired. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background test and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held in the previous three years.

Cemetery Maintenance and Care Worker-PT Seasonal – Historic Preservation Department. $10.74 per hour starting, DOE. No benefits offered. May-September. Provides services to maintain and care for the City cemetery grounds. Training or background in natural turf maintenance, irrigation, and minor construction techniques desirable. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of appointment. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and must provide a motor vehicle record from any state in which a driver’s license has been held within the previous three years.

Wastewater Plant Intern-PT Temporary-Wastewater Department. $10.23/hour, three months, no benefits offered. Performs water and wastewater plant and systems maintenance and assists in controlling treatment plant machines and equipment to purify and clarify water for human consumption and for industrial use. Also maintains and operates sewage treatment, sludge processing and disposal equipment in wastewater (sewage) treatment plant to control flow and processing of sewage. High School Junior or Senior in good standing. Must be at least 16 years old. Background check and pre-employment drug screen required.

Custodian-PT Seasonal-Custodial Department. Hiring range $9.75-$11.46/hour, no benefits offered. May-September, up to 29 hours a week. Graveyard shift, weekends required. Custodial experience preferred. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years; must have a valid Colorado Driver’s License within 30 days of appointment.
